Mighty No. 9: New Gameplay Footage from PAX

September 1, 2014 by Tony Ponce

Kickstarter backers can now enter the game’s beta as well.

At PAX this weekend, former Mega Man producer Keiji Inafune brought along with him some fresh footage of Mighty No. 9. This new trailer shows off levels not yet revealed, battles against three of the Mighty Numbers, and a few of Beck's transformations. Though the gameplay looks solid and speedy, the aesthetics look like they need some work. There seems to be little in the way of proper shading and other minor effects. Hopefully those are tweaked in the future.

In other Mighty No. 9 news, Kickstarter backers who pledged at the $80 tier or greater as well as fans who attended Inafune's PAX panel will have access to the game's Steam beta before the day is up. It's restricted to a single level, though a few extra levels may be added in the future. This kicks off "Mighty Month," a celebration of the Kickstarter's one-year anniversary that will include trivia, fan art contest, and more.

Mighty No. 9 is still on track for Windows, Max, Linux, Wii U, 3DS, PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 in 2015.
