Good news, bad news time.
The good? Along with his introduction to the Smash arena, Shulk will grace the 3DS in the form of a port of Xenoblade Chronicles. The original Wii game received a very limited release here in the US, so this should please many fans who missed the boat. It'll also serve as a good primer for next year's sequel, Xenoblade Chronicles X.
The bad? Seems like only the New 3DS will be able to run it. It appears that along with all the added buttons and tweaks, the New 3DS has also been beefed up in the CPU department. This is concerning because not everyone will be willing to upgrade to the new hardware, even if certain titles are only compatible with it. Can Nintendo afford to split the userbase like this?
Xenoblade Chronicles is coming to New 3DS next year in Japan. No word yet on a Western release.
