Two critically lauded indie titles are about to make their Sony debut. The action role-playing game Dust: An Elysian Tail and the fencing fighter Nidhogg are ready to worm their way up the PlayStation Network charts.
Dust is a labor of love helmed almost entirely by a single man named Dean Dodrill, who had previously worked as an artist on Jazz Jackrabbit 2. It's a stylish hand-drawn adventure that draws inspiration from games like Castlevania II and Golden Axe. The new PS4 version will sport 1080p visuals and a 60fps framerate.
Meanwhile, Nidhogg is a simple party game also by a single man, Mark "Messhof" Essen. During combat, you and a friend stab, charge, and stab some more like a pixelated Zorro and his different-colored twin. The new version will be released on both PS4 and PS Vita — cross-buy is supported, naturally — and you'll even be able to engage in PS4-to-Vita online matches.
No release dates for either have been announced, but expect to wait at least until the end of this year.
