SOE has outlined the details of an upcoming update for PlanetSide 2. Unfortunately, the update itself had been indefinitely postponed.
The Valkyrie is a six person aircraft, for Nanite Systems. It is used for transportation and close air support. The Valkyrie can house one pilot, one forward gunner, and four rumble seat passengers. The rumble seats are set on the aircraft’s side, in such a way that they can use their personal equipment while in flight.
This update will also have these new ribbons:
· Mentorship Ribbon
Awarded to players above BR 20. If you are within 50 meters of a squadmate, who himself or herself is at or below BR 20, and they earn 200 squad bonus XP, you earn this ribbon.
· Drill Sergeant Ribbon
Awarded to squad leaders. If you are within 300 meters of a squadmate at or below BR 20, and they gain a battle rank, you earn this ribbon.
· Squad Leadership Ribbon
Awarded to squad leaders. If you are within 300 meters of a squadmate, who earns 500 squad bonus, you earn this ribbon.
· Platoon Leadership Ribbon
Awarded to platoon leaders. When your squad leaders earn 3 ribbons, you earn your own ribbon. You can earn it with any combination of leaders and ribbons.
· Platoon Conquest Ribbon
Awarded to platoon leaders. When 30 members of your platoon successfully capture at least ten enemies in the same region as you, you earn this ribbon. You can accrue this award by having platoons capture a few enemies at a time.
The update also comes with several bug fixes and changes. You can read the full list here. PlanetSide 2 is scheduled to be released on PlayStation 4 before the end of 2014.
