Road Not Taken Developer Teases Free-Range Dragons

August 26, 2014 by Stephen Daly

Which is good because I was tired of buying all those battery farm dragon eggs.

Road Not Taken developer Spry Fox has dropped a teaser trailer for Free-Range Dragons which focuses on the "joy of moving."

In a blog post to mark the teaser's release, the developer stated:

"You have a flaming dash manoeuvre that can be used as both an attack and a tool for altering your trajectory. We're still experimenting with a variety of additional attacks and power-ups, like fireballs, flame breath, lassoing, and more."

The game allows players to tame dragons, ride them, and steal from the creatures. Those attending PAX Prime this weekend will be able to try out the game in booth 135.

Spry Fox told Joystiq earlier this year that the game is like a "2D Monster Hunter." You can check the teaser for Free-Range Dragons below but presumably any sequel will be fully organic.
