Inti Creates' Azure Strike Gunvolt arrives on 3DS eShop this Friday. Coming along for the ride is Mighty Gunvolt, an 8-bit demake of Gunvolt that co-stars Beck from Mighty No. 9 and a character named Ekoro from the Japanese-exclusive Gal*Gun. The best news is that you'll be able to download Mighty Gunvolt for free if you purchase the regular Gunvolt between now and November 28. Actually, the news can be better — Inti Creates is already hard at work on DLC for the NES throwback.
In the above video, producer Keiji Inafune and Inti Creates CEO Takuya Aizu discussed the two Gunvolt releases. Around the six-minute mark, they go into light detail on planned Mighty Gunvolt DLC, which would add additional levels. Since this is the first time players are getting a shot at controlling Beck, the star of the Kickstarted Mighty No. 9, Inafune would like these levels to be Beck-exclusive. In other words, his abilities will be necessary for proper completion.
Mighty Gunvolt comes out on 3DS on August 29. Gameranx will post our review of it and Azure Striker Gunvolt on that day as well.
