The Japanese September 13 release date for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS is fast approaching. So far, there have been a total of 37 officially announced combatants, which puts the game just under Brawl's grand total of 39. Fans have speculated that there are still a few faces yet to come — we're still waiting on Ness and Jigglypuff to round out the original 12 — but a YouTube leaker called Izat True may have just blown the lid on any and all remaining fighters.
Izat True has uploaded five off-screen videos of what appears to be the final Smash build on 3DS. The biggest stars of these clips are Bowser Jr., who rides around in the Koopa Clown Car, and Shulk, the hero of Xenoblade Chronicles. You can check out Jr. hopping about in the footage above, then hit the clip below to see Shulk swing the Monado blade. Peel your eyes back a bit further and you'll also spy Ganondorf, making his grand return albeit with the same moveset as before, unfortunately.
This is but the tip of the iceberg. There are actually more leaked revelations that haven't been captured on video just yet. Look at the giant collage below that was posted on NeoGAF. Quite a number of old friends have graced us with their presence, including Ness, Jigglypuff, Dr. Mario, ROB, Wario, and Mr. Game & Watch. Even more awesome is the addition of yet another new character: the Duck Hunt dog!
We can't confirm any of this is true until director Masahiro Sakurai says so himself, but it's looking pretty legit thus far. And personally, if the Duck Hunt dog is real, I am so going to play a team match against three dogs and murder their laughing faces over and over again!
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS will make its North American debut on October 3. The Wii U version will arrive in winter.
