Arkane Studios’ cloak-and-dagger simulator/first person stealth game Dishonored is free to play on Steam this weekend. If you’ve yet to play the game, you’ve got every reason to pick it up and maybe even purchase it, if you’re unable to finish the game during its free trial period.
If you want to complete the game before the free period ends, you’ll want to start the download from Steam as soon as you can. It’s available for free right now, through Sunday at 1PM Pacific Time. As with all Steam titles, you’ll need to install the client if you haven’t done so already.
But should you decide to keep playing the game and its excellent expansions, you can purchase it at a 75% discounted price of $4.99, or pick up the Game of the Year Edition for $10.19, which includes all three downloadable content (DLC) packs, two of which expand the game’s story and offer a different, more talkative protagonist voiced by Michael Madsen.
You won’t need a powerful gaming PC to play Dishonored, as it scales well to low-end systems, but just in case you don’t have a gaming PC at all, you can always also pick up the game for free on the Xbox 360 this month as it’s being offered as one of the free games on Microsoft’s Games with Gold initiative.
As a reminder, Borderlands 2 is also free to play this weekend on Steam, so get cracking.
