Fans have created more mods for The Sims 4, many of which improve on what Maxis built on.
First off, we have a new set of pumps for female Sims. The default Maxis pumps are red, but the color is rather bland. These mod pumps have been slightly altered with a vibrant cherry red.
There is a custom Greek uniform jacket, with different flags incorporated in it as patterns, such as those for South Africa, UK, and Mexico. The Mexican flag was integrated rather cleverly, as the middle part with the emblem is at the middle of the back of the jacket, and the green and red sides reach outwards, across the arms and to the front.
One very useful mod gives characters chapped lips. This is perfect to simulate certain weather conditions. For example, when it is freezing cold outdoors, otherwise normal lips naturally end up chapping.
Two very good looking skirts were also revealed. One has the appearance of stained glass, and another one has wonderful geometric rhomboid color pattern. The latter skirt matches up with many blouses and tops.
There are a lot of mods for hairstyles, so that players can express themselves better with their Sims.
One very dedicated modder has made a purple version for every single hairstyle, which gets added to the color options available.
The rest of the hairstyles described here replaced the white hairstyle.
There is one unique indigo colored hairstyle with highlights across the bangs and on the back. There is also a small zebra pattern near the left ear which really sets it apart.
Another unique replacement hairstyle has seapunk aesthetics, combining blue, yellow, and green. You can use these on blue or green skinned Sims, or create a Sim with a seapunk attitude.
The same modder who made these two hairstyles, and made a Rainbow Dash hairstyle for women, has also made a Rainbow Dash themed hairstyle for men. They even went all the way and made a Rainbow Dash jacket, with matching pants.
Moving on from hair, Maxis added freckles, but their freckles are only for the face. So, to reflect real life imperfections, one modder made a full body freckles mod. It does not necessarily look perfect, but it can help fans who want to recreated people they know, or just want to make full body freckled Sims.
Lastly, one fan has bested Maxis by making realistic looking eye replacements. These will replace all the eyes that Maxis made, and that is for the better. These eyes are glossier, reflect light better, and look livelier overall than the ones Maxis made.
The Sims 4 is coming to Windows on September 2, and will also come to Mac on a still undisclosed date. You can see these mods in action below.
