EA has announced that Chelsea player Eden Hazard is to join Barcelona's Lionel Messi on the cover of FIFA 15 in some European countries.
The Belgian player will feature in the box art of the game in the UK, Ireland, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. Hazard scored 14 goals in 35 appearances for Chelsea last season and, according to EA, Hazard set up 92 chances, made seven assists, and has an 83 per cent passing accuracy. He was voted PFA Young Player of the Year and made it to the PFA Team of the Year.
In a press release, the 23 year old commented:
"I have played FIFA all of my life and it's a huge honour to be asked to be on the over of FIFA 15. Now I have played the game I can say it's the most realistic football game I have seen."
Rooney used to be the default cover star alongside Messi but the Man United player was dropped last year in favour of the then Spurs-player Gareth Bale, who later moved to Real Madrid.
In the U.S., Messi is joined by Clint Dempsey who wears his Seattle Sounders jersey on the Xbox version (the platform holder sponsors the team) and his national jersey on the PlayStation version.
FIFA 15 will be onside from September 25th in North America and a day later in Europe for Nintendo 3DS, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, PC, Wii, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
