Fans have collated Ubisoft’s answers to questions from Twitter about Assassin’s Creed Unity. You can learn about the details we have not yet covered in prior posts below.
Free aim is coming back, and you can use it with the pistol as well as the Phantom Blade.
You can earn skill points by completing the single player missions and the co-op missions. You can also get them when you find hidden collectibles.
Paris has afforded Ubisoft the opportunity to make more high viewpoints than in any other game before. Paris itself is the biggest city they have ever worked on, especially when you consider the interiors, the underground, and Versailles.
Achievements are mainly single player. There are some that you can do in the co-op missions, but of course, you can earn those alone.
Since Ubisoft focused on co-op missions, competitive multiplayer did not fit into Unity. It will not have any competitive missions.
Unity also will not have any previous Assassins. However, you will be able to unlock costumes instead.
The combat system has been tweaked to add difficulty. Both the counter and the chain counter have been removed, and the guards will now be more aggressive.
Replacing the counter is a parry button. There are also more advanced moves for the different weapons.
Comparing Arno to previous Assassins, he is most like Ezio. He is dedicated to avenging his stepfather, but he can also be sharp and witty.
Ubisoft thinks of Unity as a fresh start for the franchise, so they did not call it Assassins’ Creed 5. Instead, the name describes the game’s core mechanic, cooperative play.
Double assassinations and aerial double assassinations are still in the game. You can even do these moves in synch with other players.
The cooperative missions focus on the story of the Brotherhood. However, they do tie in with Unity’s main storyline.
Ubisoft’s studios are currently working an average of eight to twelve hours a day on this game alone.
There are new moves in combat, stealth, and in navigation.
The weapons have been balanced out so that they will be as fun to use as the sword. All the weapons will all have the same number of moves.
The weapons are accurate to the time period. Arno will acquire weapons in many ways, such as, but not limited to, getting them from other characters.
You can customize Arno with as much as 200 pieces. His hood, arms, waist, chest and legs have customizable parts. This is all outside of all the colors you can use.
Unity will not have split screen multiplayer. Ubisoft’s argument for this is they want the players to be immersed in Paris.
We already know that Arno will meet famous historical figures like Antoine Lavoisier. Ubi has revealed two more famous names that will be in the game: Maximilien de Robespierre and the Marquis de Sade.
Assassin’s Creed Unity will be coming to Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 28.
