SOE's John Smedley just confirmed via stream that zombie survival MMO H1Z1 is coming to the PlayStation 4. As evidenced fan reactions, this official confirmation was long awaited. Smedley had already essentially confirmed it months ago on Twitter, but this we can consider official.
The announcement was made during the first day of SOE Live, but did not offer other any details (such as switching or transferring accounts, cross-play, Cross Buy, which would be a great incentive, or an official release date). During SOE Live, fans got to play the first H1Z1 Survival Challenge, and while details are sparse for now, we may get more information from their experiences of the game soon.
SOE also revealed the game’s official key art, and it is gorgeous. It features a seeming solitary survivor, caught in swarm of zombies under a full moon, holding a torch. He is looking over his left shoulder to another man holding an axe as they are both nearly overcome by the horde.
H1Z1 is expected sometime late this year.
