Nintendo Promotes 17 Wii U Games in This gamescom Video

August 14, 2014 by Tony Ponce

No press conference? No problem!

You'd be forgiven for thinking that Nintendo skipped out on gamescom this year — can you really claim to be participating if you don't even have a press conference? But as E3 demonstrated, the House of Mario does just fine doing its own thing. There are sadly no new announcements, but we did get the above montage of 17 Wii U games, both upcoming and currently released.

It's great to see Splatoon once again — everyone seems to have stopped talking about it since E3. And seeing Bayonetta 2 rub elbows with a otherwise family-friendly cast of characters continues to provide no shortage of humor. Naturally, the whole video has to close out with another tease of next year's The Legend of Zelda.

The montage comes courtesy of Nintendo of Europe, thus the release dates given are for that region. I have provided a list of the featured titles and their North American release dates below.

  • Hyrule Warriors (September 26, 2014)
  • Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric (November 11, 2014)
  • Mario Kart 8 (Available Now)
