Destiny, which is due for release this September, made a showing at gamescom this week during Sony’s press conference. Its developers at Bungie revealed that the game’s first expansion pack, titled The Dark Below, will launch on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in December.
They did not however reveal what contents the expansion pack would include, although it’s presumable that it’ll include both campaign content as well as multiplayer maps for players to do battle in within the Crucible.
In addition to the announcement, Bungie released a new trailer of the game showing off a previously unreleased map within the game’s Crucible competitive multiplayer mode.
They also released a host of screenshots—16 altogether—showcasing various scenes in the game.
Bungie recently confirmed that players who participated in the beta would not be able to carry over the progress they made into the main version of the game. In other words, your characters will be wiped.
Destiny is set for a September 9 release on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
