Are you curious about the cast of characters that’s set to grace 2K Games and Gearbox Software’s upcoming entry into the Borderlands franchise, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, the game’s latest trailer, released at Gamescom, will get you right up to speed with what’s going on.
The trailer below gives us a look at the four characters set to headline the upcoming game. They include Athena the Gladiator, Wilhelm the Enforcer, Nisha the Lawbringer, and Claptrap the Fragtrap, each of whom has their own reasons for joining forces with Handsome Jack.
Despite being bad guys all on their own (except Claptrap, who’s there because his programming prohibits him from doing anything else), the four new vault hunters are set to save the world in a bizarre turn of events that pits them as the ‘good guys’ for the duration of the game.
Don’t worry, they’ll still go on to be murderous bastards well after the Pre-Sequel is over when players in Borderlands 2 eventually face Wilhelm and Nisha at varying points in the game.
The game is set to be playable at this week’s gamescom event in Cologne, Germany, as well as at PAX Prime in Seattle later this August.
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is set for an October 14 release on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. 2K Games has mentioned possible plans to bring the game to next-gen platforms, should the game prove sufficiently successful on last-gen consoles and PC.
