The FIFA series is one of EA's biggest franchises and it seems they're confidently betting on its continued success with COO Peter Moore telling CVG today that FIFA 16 is already in development even before FIFA 15 hits retail next month.
That's not all though, as he added that "in some instances" plans are already being made for FIFA 17. Moore commented:
"There are two phases to [development]. There's the core game itself. We have several hundred people working on that and it's a staggered development process, so there are already people working on FIFA 16. I think some people have the misconception that you finish the game and the entire team goes off for two weeks before starting on the next game, which isn't how it works.
"You have parallel development that goes on where you have frontrunners that are thinking about what FIFA 16 is and in some instances FIFA 17 because there are development and engineering and tech decisions that need to be made."
In the run up to FIFA 15, EA has released several trailers looking at the emotion of football, the game's "true to life" lighting, and how EA is giving players control like never before.
FIFA 15 launches on September 26th PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Presumably all the extra time going into FIFA 16 and 17 is to allow EA to update the team kits for the Vita version.
