PlayWay, coming straight out of Warsaw, has a new Kickstarter pitch for you Call of Suarez fans. Introducing Hard West.
Hard West is a pretty straightforward game idea. In a semifantasy Wild West, you play turn based tactical strategy in a top-down view. The game also combines elements of exploration, treasure hunting, and RPG leveling up.
The fights are tightly controlled, lasting no more than 5 to 10 minutes. Everything is highly calculated, so there’s no room for error. Either you die or you make your enemies dead. It also means you will need to make some calculated risks to make it to the next day.
Some interesting elements are the shooting trick mechanics. You can play for ricochets, curving bullet, double wielding etc, for different tactical options in every encounter. There will also be a mix of realistic and completely fictional guns, multiplying the possibilities.
In fact, this Hard West is filled with dangers, some possibly illusory. It’s the kind of place where nightmares literally come to life, and although developers PlayWay have not shared much details, the story seems to hold a lot of promise as well.
As expected, PlayWay and CreativeForge Games are showing off a lot of knowledge about the Old West, being based on Warsaw. To be serious, they claim to have experience in making many types of games, with staffers working on Call of Juarez, Dead Island, as well as indies and casual games.
The team is looking to raise $ 70,000 Canadian to bring the game to Steam, and considering they have raised over $ 17,000 in just four days, they are well on their way. You can check out Hard West’s trailer below and join their Kickstarter here.
