Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire: Mega Evolution Pokemon, Pikachu Costumes Revealed

August 8, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Pikachu’s costumes are not just for show, it turns out.

Corocoro magazine has delivered on their Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire hype. We have confirmed three new Mega Evolution Pokemon. Plus, we get details on what the deal is with those Pikachu costumes.

These are the new Mega Evolutions:

·         Mega Altaria, who is Dragon/Fairy Type, and has the move Pixelate

·         Mega Lopunny, who is Normal/Fighting Type, and has the move High Jump Kick

·         Mega Salamence, who has the move Aerilate

Now, the Pikachu costumes are connected to the Contests. You will meet a Contest Idol named Lucia, and she will give you special clothes for participating in them. You will even get a Shiny Beldum in one such event, complete with its own Mega Stone.

So, the costumes give Pikachi different special moves. We will run them down for you below:

·         Ph. D Pikachu knows Electric Terrain

·         Pikachu Pop Star knows Draining Kiss

·         Pikachu Belle knows Icicle Crash

·         Pikachu Libre Knows Flying Press

So, interestingly enough, and as speculated earlier, Mega Salamence was confirmed for the game, but it  still surprises with its unusual form. Its wings now seem to curve away from his body, towards the front of his head, to form a large red crescent. It also seems to have some form of armor covering what would be its shoulders, and goes through its chest all the way down to its underbelly. It is a truly unique look, and along with the Pikachu costumes, hints at similarly unexpected reworkings of the Pokemon in their Mega Evolution forms.

Pokemon: Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire is releasing November 21 exclusively to 3DS. You can check out images from Corocoro magazine below.
