Far Cry 4 takes place in the fictional Himalayan country of Kyrat and while the nation may not actually exist, that doesn't mean the real world hasn't left its mark all over the game.
In the third and final making-of video, which was produced in collaboration with VICE, Ubisoft's team explored Nepal and spoke to soldiers who fought in the country's Civil War, a conflict which has no doubt influenced the strife happening in Kyrat during the game.
The Nepalese Civil War lasted from 1996 until 2006 and pitted Maoist rebels against the king's army. In Far Cry 4, protagonist Ajay Ghale returns to the country at the behest of his mother and meets the dangerous and quite possibly insane Pagan Min, despotic leader of an "oppressive regime".
Far Cry 4 is set for release on November 18th in North America and on November 21st in Europe for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
