Atlus has announced that a new 3DS entry in the Etrian Odyssey series will arrive in Japan this winter. Titled New Yggdrasil Labyrinth 2: Knight of Fafnir in its homeland, it's a remake of Etrian Odyssey II for DS. It follows last year's Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl, which itself was a remake of the very first game.
There aren't many details in the announcement, aside from the fact that the animation company Madhouse (Death Note, Summer Wars) will once more be producing the cutscenes. There also seems to be some new transformation ability that the protagonist can trigger during battle.
Every other Etrian Odyssey has been localized in the US, so it's merely a matter of when this new one will receive a proper English title and release date. If you somehow have a Japanese 3DS, though, be prepared later this year.
