July 31, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

Dead Island 2 will be playable for the first time at Gamescom 2014.

Deep Silver has officailly announced today its Gamescom 2014 lineup of games, for its public booth in Hall 9.1. B011/C010 including a world premiere for visitors: Dead Island 2.

Developed by the makers of Spec Ops: The Line, YAGER, Dead Island 2 is the sequel to the multi-million seller from 2011, and will be playable for the first time ever. It also marks the first time that a Dead Island game will be playable on German soil, with more than 150 gaming stations for the PC and consoles awaiting players at the event.

Here’s what else they plan to showcase:

Metro Redux

Metro Redux is the ultimate double game collection, including the definitive versions of both Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, each rebuilt in the latest and greatest iteration of the 4A Engine for next-gen consoles and PC. For the first time, console owners can expect smooth 60FPS gameplay and state of the art visuals that were once only available on high-end PC hardware.

Risen 3 : Titan Lords

Risen 3: Titan Lords is the newest opus by iconic German developers Piranha Bytes, the inventors of the cult Gothic series. The key element of the Gothic series as well as the Risen series is the vivid world and the freedom to explore it. The world of Risen 3: Titan Lords will be diverse, authentic and full of life – providing the player with an authentic, classic RPG experience.

Sacred 3

Sacred 3 features classic arcade Hack 'n' Slash action centered around drop-in, drop-out cooperative multiplayer for both offline (2 players) and online (4 players) play. The game brings back fan-favourite characters such as the Seraphim, or the Safiri. Each character class features its own unique skills and weapons which can be upgraded to match the player's very own combat style. As they master the art of war, players will fight their way through enemy hordes and try to outshine their fellow companions on their way to become the greatest hero of all.

Dead Island Epidemic

Dead Island: Epidemic will pit 3 teams of players against each other in a desperate fight for survival. Dead Island: Epidemic is a Free-to-Play PC title that will feature all the trademark elements that are part of a Dead Island experience.

Emergency 5

Emergency 5 is the next-level instalment of the renowned Rescue Strategy series. Featuring a brand new graphics engine and a mighty editor tool, Emergency 5 for PC will be taking players to the hottest rescue missions yet, leading firefighters, police and technical emergency services.
