Japan is getting two special editions for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, the first of which contains both Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMIX and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX in a single bundle. If you never played any of the Kingdom Hearts games, this seems like the definitive edition to pick up for the PLayStation 3.
The second special edition costs slightly more, and includes both editions of the game in addition to an artbook and a Blu-ray disc containing 32 musical tracks from the games. Both editions will be made available in a special box.
Unfortunately, these limited editions of the game are restricted to a Japanese release alone, and the North American limited edition, which was accidentally leaked on Square Enix’s online store today is nothing at all like its Japanese counterparts.
Priced at $39.99, the limited edition package of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX is a limited-run release that all regular versions can be upgraded to if purchased from the online store. It’s set to contain a Disney collectible pin featuring the game’s protagonist Sora, and Mickey Mouse in a case featuring artwork drawn by Tetsuya Nomura.
Square Enix has yet to make the announcement official, but we expect to hear from them soon. Hopefully they’ll have additional news about a special edition package similar to the Japanese releases.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX is set for a December 2nd release in North America.
