Health potions in Diablo III are a hassle. They drop often and fill up your inventory unnecessarily. The newly added bottomless health potions—legendary items in Reaper of Souls—are much better, however because you still automatically pick up regular health potions, the hassle still exists.
It’s arguable that Diablo III made potions obsolete with the addition of Health Globes, which are way more enjoyable to pick up and use than health potions and contribute to the pace and flow of the game.
To that end, Diablo III fans are petitioning for Blizzard to remove health potions as drops and to have them replaced with a basic bottomless potion that is eventually replaced by one of the legendary bottomless potions you get as drops in Reaper of Souls.
One player, upvotehappy, made the following suggestion on reddit with regards to health potions:
“How about instead of potions, a character is equipped with a "bottle" that gets refilled via an NPC or excess heals from health globes. These potion containers will also have to be looted as a magical, rare or legendary item.”
Like Path of Exile, then. We can definitely stand behind this idea.
