No less than MLG’s exec producer Chris Puckett has confirmed that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be playable at Gamescom, and chances are, it will be multiplayer.
If you missed you the ESR:
#AdvancedWarfare Multiplayer will be playable at GamesCom. Game play is faster and more fluid than any past CoD!

Gamescom sure isn’t San Diego Comic-Con, but while it may not be as world famous, it might be more important for Call of Duty. This is Europe’s largest gaming event, and in terms of physical scale (floorspace, number of attendees and exhibitors) it dwarfs E3 by a mile.
Chris also had the Call of Duty eSports community’s reaction to Call of Duty: Ghosts fresh in his mind as well. He shared that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is definitely a faster paced game. Even better than that, the game also has a bigger emphasis on skill.
Of course, this means Europe gets their first look, if not first dibs, on local multiplayer for the game, but there is nothing to be said about online multiplayer, which is of course how most people will be playing it.
As this thread points out, Activision has always used Gamescom to show off Call of Duty multiplayer gameplay. They are also floating a fan theory there, pointing out that the last 3 reveals occurred in September 2, August 7, and August 14, respectively. All of these dates were just before Gamescom.
Well, for this year Gamescom will be held in August 14 to 17, once again at Cologne, Germany. Fans are already calling for the initial multiplayer reveal to be before or on August 14.
What do you guys think? Share your theories on the comments below. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will come November 4 on Windows, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
