Destiny Weapon Skill Tree Guide

July 15, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Destiny’s weapons are a part of your personalized experience. As such, these skill trees are more important than on the average shooter.

This is a guide for how the weapon skill trees work in Destiny.

There are different skill sets, so to speak, and you need to choose one for each of the six columns. Choices include sights, bullet type, magazines, etc. You can change your selection, and there are modifiers, such as for elemental damage.

We’ve covered this in part before, but as a refresher, elemental damage modifiers include void, solar, arc, and none. These correspond to the kind of energy your shots have. Choosing none actually means you are firing physical bullets. As you may remember from our earlier coverage, different aliens are more vulnerable to these different elements, and conveniently, each element is color coded to the aliens’ shield.

Fans have chimed in with more information, based on what they’ve played in the Alpha. Some of the higher end weapons have a final selection. When you get to this point, you have to choose wisely, because your choices will be locked in completely. The good part is that after you have decided, your damage levels are increased.

Destiny is set for release on September 9th for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
