We are all very excited by the new playable fighters in Smash Bros., but that wasn't the only new news out of the Smash Dojo today. This morning's Miiverse screen was posted without fail, though the subject of the update was a little peculiar. It's… a Rayman trophy?
Director Masahiro Sakurai explained on Miiverse:
The way he went about this surprise reveal of yet another third-party character was very nonchalant, like it was the most natural thing around. But Rayman is a third-party character! Why would he be revealed out of the blue like this? And why as a trophy? Is he or is he not playable? Is his inclusion here part of Rayman Legends' former Wii U exclusivity? Is there more to this story?
We'll definitely find out before Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS launches on October 3, the Wii U build later in the holidays.
