Tiny UK studio Hello Games' No Man's Sky, revealed at VGX in December, played a big part in Sony's E3 press conference earlier this month and now there's a short documentary looking at how it all happened.
In the video, studio co-founder Sean Murray discusses the history of Hello Games and its work on the Joe Danger series, what inspired them to make No Man's Sky, and their road to E3.
The game begins with players starting at the edge of the galaxy and being tasked with getting to its centre, something which the development team says will take "intelligence, imagination and co-operation," it's unclear if this means you will need to play with others or whether it's possible to tackle the game with the help of computer controlled characters.
Players can freely explore stars and planets which are procedurally generated as they are discovered but given No Man's Sky's nature as a persistent online world, these worlds will then be available to others once found.
"The act of discovery is also an act of creation," the video explains, and you'll be able to make "significant changes" to the game's environments which will remain in effect for other players who follow.
No Man's Sky is set for release on PlayStation 4 first before to PC and, possibly, other consoles later.
