Hyrule Warriors: Link Wields the Fire Rod, Two New Playable Characters Listed

June 23, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

The Fire Rod weapon from Hyrule Warriors gets showcased by Link.

For those not in the know, Hyrule Warriors is a Dynasty Warriors take on the Legend of Zelda franchise, featuring all manner of mindless button mashing and large-scale engagements against hordes of monsters.

To that end, Tecmo Koei has put out a new trailer for their Nintendo Wii U-bound title, which showcases the Legend of Zelda protagonist Link using the powerful Fire Rod weapon.

The Fire Rod is capable of many things: conjuring swirling pillars of fire, summoning a dragon that flies around the battlefield, and firing off a huge energy bolt, and more. The complete moveset can be seen in the newly released video, below.

Additionally, the latest issue of Famitsu magazine in Japan has confirmed that players will be able to take on the roles of Agitha from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and a previously unknown individual named Lana.

Hyrule Warriors is slated for an August 14 release on the Wii U.
