Super Smash Bros 4: Watch Two Assist Trophies And Two Final Smashes In Action

June 21, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

This action was taken somewhat raw from E3, and should give you some small idea of what these attacks will be like.

We have some sweet little videos for you giving you a sneak peek at two Assist Trophies and two Final Smashes as they appear in Super Smash Bros 4.

Please note that this is handcamera footage, and this was all taken at E3 itself.

Assist Trophy Midna

Midna shows up at 00:49, and she is released by Samus. For the 10 something seconds Midna appears on-screen, she seems to attack and track Marth. Midna does not get off the ground, and she does not seem to be controllable directly either. Midna attacks using her hair, which is transformed into a fist.

Assist Trophy Tingle

Tingle appears at 1:35, and he is released by Rosalina. Unfortunately, no opponents got near Tingle during his time, and somewhat worse for us, the hand holding the camera moved, so we didn’t really see what effects Tingle could have. We did see Tingle doing a little dance in his own corner, not moving from his spot, so this may be an attack that requires you move your opponent to him.

Little Mac’s Final Smash

As you may already know, Little Mac turns into Giga Mac, suddenly dwarfing the other fighters, including his tormentor Samus, and even giants like Donkey Kong. The move is demonstrated in the 3DS version of the game, and appears at 1:32. As Giga Mac, you regain control of your character as he can go after opponents across the screen. Giga Mac demonstrates powerful attacks moving horizontally (charging from below upwards) and vertically (a powerful attack from right to left that can presumably be mirrored). It’s not clear if a charged KO Meter is of any advantage in Giga Mac form.

Mega Man’s Final Smash

If you saw the Smash Invitational, you will remember the epic reaction the fans had to the appearance of this Smash. We shouldn’t have to recount what happens here, but you can see the Smash appear here at 1:28.

Super Smash Bros 4 is coming to 3DS October 3 and Wii U this holiday 2014.
