Halo May Return to PC but 343 is ‘Focused on Xbox One’ for Now

June 20, 2014 by Stephen Daly

Bonny Ross says the studio is listening to PC fans but Xbox One focused.

Halo PC fans look like they'll left waiting for Master Chief and co. to make a return to the platform.

Speaking to Eurogamer E3 last week, 343 Industries' producer Bonny Ross commetned that "Right now we are focused on Xbox One."

Both Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 were released on PC and Ross said, "You're right. We've been on PC before, and Dan [Ayoub, an executive producer at 343] has had games like Halo: Spartan Assault on there. We're listening to the PC fans, but right now this is all focused on Xbox One."

Halo 5: Guardians is set to release on Xbox One late next year with a beta launching this December until mid-January, Access to the beta is included with the Master Chief Collection and explaining why the package isn't coming to Xbox 360, franchise community manager Andy Dudynsky wrote on the Halo Waypoint blog that:

"We are dedicated to bringing a full and fun experience to Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One, providing you with dedicated servers, a unified interface, increased visual fidelity, and gameplay running at 60fps.

"We do not have any plans to bring the game to Xbox 360 as the game size, enhanced features and technical specifications simply can't support it."

The package includes four games on a single Blu-ray disc which has several times the storage capacity of the Xbox 360's dual layer DVDs and this may be one of the reasons why it's skipping the console.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection includes Halo 1, 2, 3, and 4's campaigns and multiplayer maps with updated graphics and 4000 Gamerscore. The Collection is set for release on Xbox One on November 11th.
