We have some new information for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
First, we go through the topic of exclusive Mega Evolutions. As a brief refresher, some Pokemon only had Mega Evolutions in either Pokemon X or Pokemon Y, but not both. It seems likely that Game Freak will repeat the same thing with Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
This likely fake image indicates Mega Metagross and Mega Milotic as possible exclusives for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, respectively, and a follow up rumor has it that Mega Milotic will be Water / Steel Type. If true, this would be the first Water/ Steel for the franchise. Apparently, fans prefer that it be Fairy / Water, but we’ll just have to wait it out. Mega Metagross, in contrast, is likely to be mostly the same. Our source personally hopes to see Mega Ludicolo and Mega Shiftry, respectively.
Now we run down some info from some recent screenshots.
The Evolution screen, particularly the background, seems to have changed. The preview pic shows lights glowing for Pichu’s transformation. This may be specific to Pichu being Electric type, and other Pokemon may have different particle effects.
The Trade screens have also seen changes, from light to darker blues, for effect.
For WiFi Battles, the battleground looks mostly unchanged from X and Y, except for the addition of luminescent hexagons marking the floor like a honeycomb. The hologram people in the background stay the same.
The rooms for Male and Female Trainers are mostly the same, but inverted and, with blue and red color schemes, respectively. Both of them have Wii Us hiding in their rooms, BTW.
Preview screens of the gyms show they have yellow roofs, a different color than in X and Y, but serving the same purpose of making them easy to find and recognize.
Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will have a museum, and a spoiler pic shows a large exhibit of fossil Pokemon at the back. This may be the place where you will be learning about Mega Stones.
Spoiler screens for Battle Challenges from Youngster Allen and Lass Tiana show some character designs may be getting some tweaks.
We were also spoiled some screens of Steven Stone, who introduces himself when he meets you in the caves. Unlike many of the other characters, he doesn’t seem to have been heavily redesigned. He also seems to be out looking for rocks and stones, so he may be reprising his role in Pokemon Emerald here, although meeting him as the Hoenn champion isn’t out of the question.
Finally, the final batch of screenshots indicate that Team Aqua and Team Magma are reprising their roles, meaning one team is your adversary, and which team it is is based on which game version you get. They also confirm that lava pools are coming back.
Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be coming November 21 to 3DS.
