It now seems likely that Final Fantasy 15 will not be appearing at this year’s E3.
Executive Producer Shinji Hashimoto explained that his earlier comments in a previous event at Thailand were misconstrued. He does make a point to emphasize that progress on the game is going very well, and fans will have to wait until E3 if they will be able to share footage, release dates, or more information for the game.
At this point, it seems more likely that we will be getting these details at Tokyo Game Show, or possibly Gamescom. Of course, this is assuming development on Final Fantasy 15 is going as well as Square Enix would have us believe. This is not to be vindictive or bitter, but this game was announced over a decade ago, and could conceivably be compared to Thief and Duke Nukem as one of the most delayed games ever. Square can only allay concerns about the game when they share more tangible updates.
If you really are hungry for information, though, we have a source for you, although we can’t vouch for its accuracy. A fan is leaking details on Final Fantasy 15 en masse. In fact, it’s so much info we have to wonder if it is legit. They do claim they’ve done research with other sources, although they do not share those sources. We’ll share the details here for you to judge for yourself:
· Noctis drives across the game map, with roads all over the game. There are many forms of transport, including Chocobos and cars, and many shops.
· Noctis has an in-game cellphone which can take pics and has other features.
· The battle system apparently has a degree of customization.
· Characters are unlocked at a certain point in the game, when summons get so huge they require you work with a team.
· Noctis faces (fights?) Stella multiple times, and learns her story as the game narrative unfolds.
· The council plays a big role in the story. Of course, we all think they’re the bad guys 1st, but this could go either way.
· The Goddess of Death, Etro, has worshippers in the game.
· Finally, the release date is dependent on sales of the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
