WildStar developer Carbine Studios is pretty confident of the game's chances, commenting in a press release that the MMO will usher in a "new era" for the genre.
If you want to access the game early, you can pre-order to gain access to the Head Start Program, which gives players instant access to planet Nexus from midnight Pacific Time tonight. Pre-ordering will also unlock various in-game exclusive items.
Carbine has also teamed up with Hot Pepper Gaming, Monika Lee, Bajeera, Sevadus, and Mindcrack to stream the game Saturday, May 31 through Monday, June 2 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. PDT on the game's Twitch TV channel. The stream will include giveaways of Nvidia and Logitech gear.
The studio commented:
"So, when taking a break from exploring the new world riddled with mystery, players can watch the stream to see developers beat themselves up in PvP battles and attempt to embarrassedly progress through insanely hard dungeons, all for the price of entertainment. A full schedule is available on the WildStar forums."
