Xbox One Screenshot Sharing in the Works for Future Update

May 29, 2014 by Stephen Daly

It’s unknown when the feature will be available, however.

Microsoft plans to implement the ability to share in-game Xbox One screenshots in a future update, Xbox division head Phil Spencer has revealed on Twitter.

Asked if such a feature would become available, Spencer replied, "Yeah, this is [on] the list for the monthly updates, team is making great progress on the updates. More features to come."

A steady stream of monthly Xbox One updates have been rolled out with June's adding the ability to use external storage and real names.

The ability to share screenshots would fit neatly with the system's gameplay footage recording and broadcasting functions while PS4 owners have been able to share screenshots since the console launched thanks to the DualShock 4's dedicated Share button.

Hopefully Microsoft continues to introduce regular system updates to the Xbox One for some time to come.
