Battlefield Hardline Secrets Found In Battlelog Code

May 29, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

It’s amazing what information you can get out of site code.

We have new information regarding Battlefield Hardline. Actually, this is a lot of information. Basically, a fan has gone through the code in the Battlelog website, and this is the source of all our information. Let's start off with this pic, which could be in-game, or part of a cutscene.

We know of two game modes: Heist, and Blood Money. Of course, the two factions are the cops and robbers, here renamed SWAT, and Thieves.

Subsequently, Hardline has four classes. We already went through this before, but for the sake of completion, they are Operator, Mechanic, Enforcer, and Professional. They seem to be the conventional Battlefield classes, with the police theme added in.

Now, let’s go through the weapons:

·         AK-47 – might have really long extended mags

·         Riot shield

·         Baseball bat

·         C4 charge

·         Adrenaline pen – could be a health or speed boost

·         Camera – a lot of possibilities on this one

·         Stinger – indicates there will be air vehicles

·         G36C

·         Smoke grenade

·         Grappling hook

·         M67 frag grenade

·         HNK .45 compact

·         Uzi

·         Bayonet

·         Unidentified mine – could be tugs, motion mine, bouncing betty

·         M-16

·         M-40

·         M9 pistol

·         G36

·         P90

·         G3

·         Tonfa

·         RPG

·         Blowtorch

·         SKS

·         Double barreled shotgun

·         Smith and Wesson 640

·         Taser

·         Tech9

·         UMP

·         Crossbow

·         Remington 870

There is also a line of leaked attachments, most of which seem to be lifted from Battlefield 4. No real revelation, save that the inclusion of mags makes it seem like the game will have extended mags.

Information on the vehicles isn’t complete down to the model, but we know based on the images that there will be four helicopters, including transport helis, two motorcycles, and a lot of transport vehicles. No APCs or tanks, although of course they could be coming up later. There will be armored weaponized vehicles, but also a lot more police cruisers. Finally, there is a gas tank, but it seems doubtful Hardline will have a refueling mechanic, so this may simply be something to drive towards the enemy to explode. Overall, it seems like we’re getting less demolition derby style combat as much as conventional cops and robbers car chases.

Award images were revealed, but there’s little to gleam. There’s a skull, a bunch of guns, a pair of handcuffs, and a money bag. It does seem like some of these are faction specific.

Of course, we now know Visceral Games is making Hardline, but what’s interesting is our source pointed out some Visceral employees actually bolted for Sledgehammer Games. So, they may be different devs and different companies now, but essentially it’s Visceral developers who are bringing us the two biggest shooters for this year, in the form of Battlefield Hardline and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Does that sound like good news to you? Share your thoughts with us below. We will make sure to keep you updated on platforms and release information for Battlefield Hardline, but in the meantime, you can watch out source below.
