Sega fans, ready some tissues because what you're about to read may cause you to cry your eyes out. Yu Suzuki, the father of Outrun, Virtua Fighter and Shenmue has announced that he will be departing his long-time company at the end of the year.
The designer said he will stick around to advise the company in its future ventures but that he will no longer be working at the company. He will be working at his own studio, YS NET.
"In 2008 I established YS NET, my current company," he said. "I'll be leaving my current job at Sega this September, and after that point I'll remain on as an advisor."
"So I've formally been with both companies from 2008 until September 2011. With the new company, I've been doing pretty much what I personally want to do myself," Suzuki added.
Suzuki says that he has no plans to create a Shenmue 3.
