Blizzard employees aren't always the bearers of good news, but this time around, game designer Travis Day has delivered word to the Diablo forums that the anniversary buff that boosts drop rates for Legendary items by doubling them will be a permanent fixture in the game.
He wrote:
Hello folks,
I come bearing exciting news. Due to the overwhelming popularity of our Anniversary buff we have decided to keep the increased Legendary drop rate once the Anniversary celebration ends. Once the buff is disabled tomorrow morning, you will find that the new base line drop rates for Legendary items will be the same as those you have all enjoyed for the last week.
Happy hunting and link the loot!
It's good news for anyone playing Diablo 3 and its expansion pack, Reaper of Souls, as it means you'll have to spend way less time hunting for the loot you want and receive Legendary item drops far more often than from before they added the anniversary buff.
Kudos to Blizzard for giving the community what they want.
