The Surface Pro 3 was announced at a Microsoft event in New York City today.
The 12-inch tablet comes with a 2160×1440 resolution display with a 3:2 aspect ratio. Running on Windows 8.1 Pro, the system contains a 4th generation Intel Core processor housed in a 9.1mm-thick casing, and works with the digital Surface Pen.
This makes the tablet the “thinnest Intel Core product ever made,” one of the lightest at 800 grams.
The price starts at $799, and goes up whether you want an Intel Core i3, Core i5, or Core i7 in the device.
Likewise, the system provides four storage options starting at 64GB all the way up to 512GB and a selection of 4GB or 8GB RAM.
The Surface Pro 3 will be available for pre-order starting tomorrow at the Microsoft web store, third-party retailers, and Microsoft retail stores.
While the Surface Pro 3 isn't exactly meant for gaming, it's more than capable of running Hearthstone and other games with low requirements. The lack of a dedicated graphics card is the only thing preventing it from running anything serious.
