A PlayStation blog post announced the release of RPG Mugen Souls Z, the sequel to Mugel Souls, on the PlayStation Store and selected retail stores.
"Mugen Souls Z features a vibrant, free-roaming battle map, unique turn-based combat, and massive amounts of customization to quench even the most hardcore RPG fan’s thirst," the post describes the game. The main character from the first game Chou-Chou returns with her crew in a brand-new stort revolving the zodiac. However, you'll be controlling the goddess Syrma in this game who cross paths with Chou-Chou shortly after the events of the first game.
The battle system is also influenced by the Hyperdimension Neptunia series and Disgaea games. Fans should also expect new characters with personalities relating to the zodiac. You'll also encounter some spaceship battles along the way.
"You’ll travel through 12 different worlds. During battle, one of the new mechanics you’ll experience is “The Damage Carnival,” where if you deal enough damage, the festival of pain will come to town. This mechanic deals extra damage and can even score you some more loot once the battle is over."
The developers have more planned though with DLC in the near future, so there's more Mugen Souls Z to come.
Mugen Souls Z is a PlayStation 3 exclusive and it can be purchased for $49.99.
