The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will have no platform exclusive content, CD Projekt RED co-founder Marcin Iwinski has told Eurogamer.
Explaining the decision, he commented:
“We are treating all gamers equally.
“We’ll not deliver exclusive content to any of the platforms, nor will we artificially delay release of the game on any of the platforms because somebody’s paying us money for that. It’s definitely against our values. We are not doing that.”
Wild Hunt was shown on stage at Microsoft's E3 press conference last year and Iwinski said the game will "hopefully" be shown at one of the platform holders' media briefings. He added, "What we are doing in terms of marketing cooperation, you'll see that at E3."
Relationships soured somewhat when CD Projekt RED learned only after their appearance on stage that Wild Hunt would not have been playable on Xbox One in their native Poland because of the console's original vision which required daily internet checks and access to Xbox Live – a service which will still not be available for the new system in the country until the Xbox One launches there in September.
Whether or not all has been forgiven, or if Wild Hunt will be making an appearance on Sony's stage this time round, will be revealed on June 9th. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One in Febraury 2015.
