Publisher Bandai Namco has announced that it has successfully shipped more than 1.2 million copies of Dark Souls 2 worldwide between the game’s release on March 11, 2014 and the end of the company’s financial year on March 31.
The figure does not include Japanese shipments of the game, which creator From Software published independently and on their own, or the PC version, which launched in April.
Once you factor in the sales of the PC version of the game, details of which have yet to be disclosed, you can see how the game is a hot property for the publisher.
Regardless, Dark Souls 2 was the publisher’s best-performing game in the financial year which ended March, ahead of its Japanese-only release God Eater 2 with 700,000 sales and Dragon Ball Z Battle of Z with 620,000 sales.
