The update will bring a video editor called ShareFactory as well as the ability to turn off HDCP so you can record gameplay footage through the HDMI port if you so choose. Vidoes can also be captured to USB after the fireware is relased and 1.70 will bring one of the most requested features from users – the ability to pre-install digital games ahead of their release so you can play them as soon as they go live.
ShareFactory will be a downloadable application meaning those uninterested in its features won't have to sacrifice HDD space. You'll also be able to adapt how long the PS4 records gameplay for.
Firmware 1.70 is set to go live tomorrow, April 30th. Which of these features are you most looking forward to?
