Respawn Entertainment has shed light on how they intend to go about with future updates to Xbox exclusive online shooter Titanfall.
Game director Steve Fukuda pointed out that Respawn actually has little experience in terms of providing post release support to their games. This is an entirely new experience for them, to which they are applying all their abilities on. They intend to improve what they call their update tempo. This does not just refer to getting each update out quickly, but also increasing the total number of updates, and improving how well they communicate each update as it comes out. They are using the official blog with this in mind.
There are three levels of updates that they are working on. First is the general fixes and tweaks that any game needs as fans encounter bugs and issues daily.
Next are the convenience features. These do not fix anything broken per se, but bring improvements to the UI, navigation, and overall experience. An example of such a fix is the ability to rename your custom loadouts, and make them specific to a game mode.
Lastly, there are the infrastructural features. These features are on a different level, so much so that they will usually have to go through betas. An example of this is the upcoming Private Match feature.
Finally, they confirmed some content that is on the way, including new modes, mode variations, maps, burn cards, and Titan ‘nose art’. These nose art are actually insignias meant to personalize your Titans.
The best part? Save some map packs, all these updates will be free. We certainly they can make sure that there is parity in the updates for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Windows versions.
