Fans have discovered a seriously game-breaking bug in Battlefield 4 that should have been easy to spot, but has not been noticed until recently.
Simply put, the bug activates when an opponent is shot and killed, and their body lies on the floor in a revivable state. While the body stays there, it becomes something of a human shield, blocking bullets, grenades, even larger explosives.
Apparently, what the bug does is register the hitbox for the dead opponent as if they are still standing up. You would have to wait for the body to disappear, when it can no longer be revived, for the bug to disappear.
How gamebreaking could it be? Well, for one, it deflects actual tank projectiles. It has way too much priority, over basically any weapon you can come up with. It will stop you from hitting foot soldiers, vehicles, other tanks, even helicopters. The bug also works pretty much everywhere.
One of the harsher effects of the bug relates to grenades. If you killed an opponent, unwittingly turning them into a dead shield, any grenades you throw will bounce off that shield and strike you back. However, if there is another opponent behind the dead shield, they can throw a grenade your way and it will detonate the way it is supposed to. Similarly, if you try to throw an RPG at the shield, it will bounce back and kill you immediately.
Since the video’s already out there, we assume DICE already knows about it and is working on it for their next patch. So, consider this as a fair warning to you, the Battlefield 4 player, that this bug is active and you need to find ways around it for now. You can check out the source video below.
