Respawn Entertainment has revealed the 1st DLC map pack for Titanfall. Expedition’s batch of maps will include Runoff, Swamplands, and Wargames.
This is actually the 1st of 3 planned DLC packs, which will be available individually for $ 9.99. As you may have imagined, Respawn is also offering a Season Pass for $ 24.99. The Season Pass and all the DLC will be available for Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Windows.
The most interesting part of this announcement is a seeming reveal of end of support. Apparently there is a provision that the Season Pass content needs to be redeemed by March 11, 2016. Does that mean they will stop selling the Season Pass at that point? Is this a timeframe for when Respawn’s and EA’s contract with Microsoft ends? Does it also mean there is a limited timeframe for when Titanfall’s content will be available? You may not be able to play Titanfall until the end of this console generation. Heck, it might not even be up for five years. Of course, all it means is that you will want to get as much gameplay out of it if you have it.
Regarding the DLC’s story, the premise involves the defeated IMC regrouping in a foreign new world they have newly found and sought to occupy. By serendipity, they discover ruins of an ancient civilization. While SpyGlass investigates the ruins, the IMC use simulation pods to prepare for battle.
We have no info on Expedition’s release date, implying a staggered release across the available platforms. We will let you know when Respawn brings everyone to speed.
