2K Games has revealed Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, a co-production between 2K Australia and Gearbox Software, slated for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC fall of this year.
So, don’t get confused with that tile. The game is set between the two Borderlands games, as you play among four new playable characters working to aid the rise of Hyperion Corporation in the moon of Pandora. In this capacity, you will get a front row seat watching Handsome Jack grow into the tyrant that he is.
Borderlands’ signature shoot and loot gameplay is expanded upon with low-gravity and oxygen jetpack elements, as well as a new elemental type called Cryo, a new Laser Weapon class, and new lunar vehicles.
You don’t mind a fib, do you? You have actually seen these characters before, but they become playable in this game for the 1st time:
Athena the Gladiator, originally seen in The Secret Armory of General Knoxx. She uses a Kinetic Apsis, a shield that can absorb damage and throw it back as energy.
Wilhelm the Enforcer, originally a Borderlands 2 boss.
Nisha the Lawbringer, originally the sheriff of Lunchwood from Borderlands 2.
Claptrap the Fragtrap, the robot NPC from Borderlands 2. ‘Nuff said.
2K promises to reveal more information in the upcoming PAX East, but for now, enjoy the official trailer below.
