Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition Sells 12 Million

4J Studios thanks fans as another milestone reached for Mojang’s game.

4J Studios has announced that the Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition has now sold 12 million copies and thanked fans on Twitter.

Interviewed on the Xbox Wire, Mojang's Daniel Kaplan commented: 

"It is pretty amazing! I remember when we started talking about sales numbers that we would be super happy to sell one million copies. That would have put us on par with BF1943 and Castle Crashers, which both are awesome games, so that was something to aim for. We never even dreamed of selling 12 million!"

Total sales of Minecraft across all platforms now stand at 40 million with the game still set to come to PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, and Amazon Fire TV. Kaplan said the Xbox One version "is coming, eventually!"
