Assassin’s Creed 5 Unity Screenshot Leaked

We have a new leaked image straight out of Assassin’s Creed 5: Unity.

The image comes straight out of 18^th century France, particularly in the time of the French Revolution. While most of you readers may directly associate that with the popular Broadway musical Les Miserables, we would point out that this period is more than fitting for an Assassin’s Creed game. It stands as a historically relevant era, it was filled with many violent events, and most importantly, this period was filled with espionage and subterfuge. The latter is what really makes it a square fit for an Assassin’s Creed game.

Now, what strikes me as interesting is that the character is in the middle of the road, in what is traditionally believed a dangerous time to just be casually walking across the streets. So, is our Assassin working for the monarchy, the revolutionaries, caught in the middle, or an independent party just after the Templars? And what interest does Abstergo have in going back to this era (aside from making their own Les Mis, to which I say ecch)?

There seems to be debate among fans whether it actually is a screenshot or official art, although most agree it probably is legit because of the takedown. To this I say, if it is a screenshot, it is a heck of an impressive demonstration of the power of Anvil, Assassin’s Creed’s engine.

Of course, as expected, Ubisoft refused to reply, stating that they have planned an incremental release of information in the coming weeks and months, and we should watch out for that. And to that we say no Ubisoft!
