Oil Rush Is a Multiplatform Real Time Strategy Naval Combat Turret Defense Game

June 14, 2011 by Josh Wanamaker

A new game titled Oil Rush joins the masses of turret defense games to rock gamers this season.

What a mouthful! In a world flooded over by some kind of apocalyptic disaster involving a nuclear explosion, Oil Rush apparently blends mechanics of the RTS and Turret Defense genres – not unlike the absolutely stellar Revenge of the Titans. More details after the break.

The engine used in it's production, Unigine, appears to be on a graphical par with Valve's Source technology, which is actually a pretty impressive achievement coming from a relatively small studio. The game is coming to the PC, Mac, Linux and PS3 platforms. It's slated for a summer release, but if you pre-order it now you could theoretically play it immediately, as you'd get access to developer builds!
