When Bungie signed a 10-year exclusive publishing deal with Activision in April 2010, the studio announced that it would be developing a whole new universe in an all new setting.
The first game in the new franchise, code-named Destiny, is planned for a release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
A Google Group in Seattle, the Seattle Steamrats, put out a call for denizens to participate in a photoshoot involving a new video game. The steampunk-based group had their photos taken at Bungie Studios on June 3.
GameSpot was told by officials at Bungie that the photoshoot was done on behalf of another game, slated for the iPad, using space borrowed from the Bungie Offices.
It remains to be seen whether this is the truth, or whether Bungie's upcoming franchise will be set in a Steampunk universe.
